Associazione JUMP - Gioventù in risalto

JUMP was founded in 2012 as a totally new international actor in the context
of the Calabria region which is characterized as the most underdeveloped
and poor territory, also at the European level, suffering especially educational
poverty, youth unemployment, and depopulation phenomenon. The initial core group of JUMP has been formed by the actual President and Legal Representative, Mr Pietro Curatola and other two friends who decided to come back, stay and invest in their region after living, studying and working
in other Italian cities or abroad.
JUMP means literally "to Jump", the action of moving up and using all the
energy needed to bring a change. “Gioventù in riSalto” means "Youth on the
Rise" because we want to raise in all the European citizens the "youth spirit"
and the “European citizenship” sense of belonging. It’s not just a matter of
age, we work with any kind of target groups, especially educators and adult
learners working in the educational field.
JUMP stresses the importance of developing educational and innovative
projects to activate new processes and put into practice European policies.
In the last years, the association grew a lot employing mainly young people
and bringing internationalisation in the local context.
JUMP bases its work on a method which we call, "B.E.S.T. Method", Building
Europe in a Small Town which means something simple but not easy to put
into action, especially in the South of Italy. It’s a day by day process, made of
“small steps”, bringing what is international and seems far, something local,
visible and adapted to locals. Citizens who are not into what we do needs us
to understand the European dimension and the opportunities it gives.
Main activities are
EU project design and management, especially in the topics of social
entrepreneurship, social innovation, cultural studies in business, cultural
heritage, green economy/ecology, circular economy, innovation in education
and game-based learning;
Teachers training on many topics related to education and with the use of
Non Formal Education;
Research on educational topics and development of new training methods
Development of European policies through European projects
Creation of graphic manuals, learning tools, web-design, web-management,
blogging, web content development, translation, video making, social media
dissemination
Organization of contact making meetings for Partnership Building (PBA) and
dissemination events to foster and promote EU projects, its results and the
EU opportunities to new stakeholders and to citizens
Mobility projects for educators and youth, sending organization in youth
trainings, seminars, youth events, youth exchanges and ESC volunteering
Hosting young entrepreneurs with EYE Program
Placement of students and teachers by local partners for work-based
learning
JUMP develops active local volunteering involving citizens and taking part in
grassroots events in close contact with the local communities. Extremely
important for JUMP is the inclusion of disadvantaged categories and youth
living in small rural villages aimed at making them feel European, believe in
the EU, stay and invest in the region.
In the field of project design and management, JUMP has a transversal
team, with important organizational, language and digital skills ready for big
and complex projects and development plans.
European citizenship, knowledge and passion for Europe are at the base of
their daily work, being promoters of European topics and policies.
Since 2013 JUMP has organized the unique "Euro.Soul Festival" dedicated
to the "Europe Day" on 09/05 every year. 8 editions were organized until the
last one in 2024. During a week the team involves schools, other
associations, institutions organizing workshops, book presentations,
exhibitions, contests and debates. https://www.eurosoul.org/
