Associazione Antilia

Antilia is a cultural, naturalistic and sports no profit association, formed in 2013 by a group of young people from Palermo, eager to promote through the arts, sports, historical and environmental preservation, the principles of legality, integration, equality and fraternity.
Culture, nature and sport contain, express and define the soul of a community. They invite to a constant improvement and amplify the ability to analyze and dream, to have interest in the past and curiosity for the future.
The association aims among its statutory objectives of:

- - to promote the culture of art, respect for nature and environmental protection as essential values of human sociality, and representative of ethics and social cohesion, growth of identity, cultural and civic of people;
- to promote art and culture as elements of the civic and social development among children, encouraging processes of growth, education, training and social integration;
- Pursuing the valorization of artistic, cultural and naturalistic heritage, local and not, and stimulate the activation of processes leading to recovery and consolidation of the sense of identity;
- - Be a point of reference for those who can recognize the various facets and expressions of culture as absolute and inalienable human being’s values.

The association has to its credit the presentation of various cultural projects including:

 For celebration of the International Day to say NO to Violence against Women, on 25 November, which was established in 1999 by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the association realizes the event “NUDA, Arts and Culture for elimination of Violence against Women”, held between 25 and 30 November at the spaces of REAL FONDERIA, with the patronage of the Municipal Council President of Palermo, and the participation of the Art Institutes Regina Margherita and Otama Kiyohara. The event involved more than fifty artists, many cultural workers, ten associations, two higher education institutions and other operators in the cultural and social sector. Good also the response of the public. The event thus confirmed its vocation to be an opportunity to meet and debate for citizenship, on the themes of cultural participation and social commitment.
 cultural event "Nataleria, the dream of The Nutcracker", made 28 to 30 December 2013 in the communal spaces of Real Fonderia Palermo; the intervention was promoted among the best projects funded by the Municipality of Palermo, Department of Culture, about "Programme Events for Christmas 2013". The event, freely inspired by the Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, has awakened the interest of children and adults to the classics of Western culture, including literature, tradition and spectacle, through the creation of a stage shared, distributed, interactive, where many forms of art have interacted with each other.

Melt Pot, artistic event on the theme of diversity and integration, made June 18, 2014 at the Stables of Palazzo Cefalà, with the support of Department to Participation of Palermo Municipality and “Consulta delle Culture”.

 For celebration of the International Day to say NO to Violence against Women, on 25 November, which was established in 1999 by the General Assembly of the United Nations, the association realizes the event “NUDA, Arts and Culture for elimination of Violence against Women”, held between 21 and 25 November 2014 at Branciforte Palace and Real Fonderia Palermo. Among the partners of the initiative: Municipality of Palermo, Sicilia Foundation, Civita Sicilia, Branciforte Palace, Conservatory V. Bellini, Academy of Fine Arts Palermo, Arcidonna Palermo. The event saw the creation of an art collecting, conferences and seminars, debates, theater and music performances by numerous artistic and cultural realities of territory. Artists and citizens are confronted on the issues of violence against women, extremely topical, for which there is a need to identify areas of aggregation, meeting and debate, also useful to promote and educate new forms of outreach.

 Xmas Art In Box, project funded by municipality of Palermo, cultural sector, within the Christmas events 2015: creation and promotion of initiatives to upgrade the contemporary arts and young talents, in a context of recovery and redevelopment of the old town. The artistic works and cultural, made during weekends ranging from 11 December 2014 to 4 January 2015, are housed in garages cleverly adapted and prepared to host art collectives and live performances. Partners of the initiative: Municipality of Palermo, Conservatory V. Bellini, Academy of Fine Arts Palermo, Hotel Posta, Consulenza Eventi.

 RELATIVITY, storia, scultura e arti performative, from 26 December 2014 to 4 January 2015: art collective of the Department of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts Palermo and interventions of theater and music in the Santa Rosalia pawnshop of Branciforte Palace. Partners of the initiative: Branciforte Palace, Civita Sicilia, Sicilia Foundation, Academy of Fine Arts Palermo, Conservatory V. Bellini Palermo, Ipsa New Publisher.
