Association VIVRE MIEUX ENSEMBLE

The Social Center, is a nearby equipment in the town of Port Sainte Marie. It is open to everybody. It is managed by the Association Better Living Together.
It is the only one Social Center of the Lot and Garonne existing in rural areas, located between Bordeaux and
Toulouse in South West in France.

One of the main social center's activities is the young
reception.
This action is taking place on several places and moments. In our village (Port-Ste-Marie) we are
welcoming teenagers every Friday evening and on
Wednesday afternoon we are receptioning them in
Aiguillon (9 km from Port-Ste-Marie). Beside these we
plan an itinerant reception on the seventeen
municipalities of what we call the “communauté de communes”. For all these we are also proposing activities during holidays. The activities we are proposing can be sport (indoor soccer, bicycle, hiking,), video making, music (cultural melting), artistic activities as graf painting (make your own portrait for example but also we are planning with Aiguillon’s
library to graff one of their wall on a hip-hop concert the occasion), build tree hut, special evening as themed meals or boom party. Once a month we plan outing (soccer match, paintball, concerts, theater as one man show).
We are mainly trying to encourage youth people to make their own proposal, express their idea, so that we can give them the tools they miss and need.

So, we are working on several points:
· Delinquency prevention
· Citizenship
· Interculturality
· Exchanges

Two youth workers welcome young and a responsible
coordinates this sector.

European Youth Exchange :
To offer young people the opportunity to learn and
discovers others countries and cultures, VME
proposes them European exchanges in line with objectives of the YAP.
We search partners for summer 2011. At the first time,
we want to go to a host country.
