Association Rondine Cittadella della Pace

The Association Rondine Cittadella della Pace runs an International Hall of Residence housing students from the opposing sides of conflict areas (the Middle East, the Russian Federation, the Southern Caucasus, the Balkans, Africa, India and Pakistan). Students take undergraduate and postgraduate study courses at Italian universities, while participating in the dialogue and co-existence program run by the Association which aims to humanize the enemy, generating the desire to work together to promote and stimulate the peaceful resolution of conflicts. On completion, the students return to their home countries where they continue to "sow the seeds" of peace within their personal and professional spheres of life.
Rondine also runs short term peace building projects open to young people from all over the world on themes such as confidence building, leadership, multicultural and inter-faith dialogue, sport, music and so on. The aim of our short term campuses is to give youth from diverse cultures the opportunity to meet, get to know and understand each other, listen to and learn from others, develop skills and share project ideas. The “learning by doing” methodology we use sees participants engaged emotionally, physically, socially, intellectually and spiritually in sports, workshops, role play, discussion groups, adventure activities and day trips. Together they learn the value of cooperative team work and respect for diversity and return to their home countries with a new understanding of how they can actively contribute to making the world a better place.
