Association of social volunteers "ODIN/VITA"

The aims of ODIN/VITA activity: to promote social activity of the individuals; to format of civil society consciousness; popularizing the democratic principles and development in Latgale region; and supporting voluntary work for the integration in society, reducing social exclusion.

Activity: seminars, educational courses for the volunteers / disabled/ elderly/ children, social planning, support of regional public social organizations, NGO's, consultations, research etc.

Kinds of voluntary work: the various non-material help, which the volunteers provide free-of-charge:
1) Home help, socialising, cooking, walking;
2) Clubs of interest at the Day care centre of social rehabilitation (for the elderly people and disabled): Languages, Computer courses, Creative activities (art & music); Psychological support groups etc.;
3) Consultations of lawyers, psychologists, about NGO management and project writing etc.;
4) Actions ( the human rights of disabled; children etc.);
5) Different support activities with the youngsters of children homes and mentally disabled centre;
6) use of multimedia for the promotion of youth participation to community life
