Association House of Valle del Cauca - Acolvalle

The Asociación Casa del Valle del Causa is an NGO created in 11th March 2002 in the Valencian Community. It is a non-profit Spain-based entity that promotes projects of a social character to serve to the public interest of our society but with special emphasis in immigrant collectives. Moreover, takes actions in terms of International Cooperation towards entrepreneur’s communities in South Countries that require help to improve and stronger initiatives. All of the aforementioned within the framework of solidarity with the most vulnerable ones.
Its origins remain above an initiative of some Colombian migrant population in Valencia (Spain), but today the organization serves to all the Community.
ACTIVITIES:

- Promotion and development of actions, projects, programs and other activities related to the International Cooperation field towards South Countries- especially children, disabled and poorest communities- with the aim of covering basic needs.
- Development of initiatives in the areas of social awareness and education for development to get a better understanding of the inequalities and to incentive solidarity and change.
- Promoting the intervention and social assistance directed to immigrant population through projects and programs that give a integrated assistance in their stages in their first reception, accompanying, and other assistance such as socio labor insertion, legal advice, empowering, accommodation… and working with other entities for the promotion of their welfare.
- Contribution for the intercultural coexistence between immigrant and local population to get a better knowledge of one another and prevent racism and xenophobia.
- Promotion of an associative spirit, net-working together with stimulation of citizen participation, especially those with major difficulties, generating a culture of participations, direct and active of citizens to get higher welfare levels.
- Take sport as a flag for integration, leaning on public and private administrations in a national or international level.
- Contribute to the application of gender- aware actions and projects.
- Promotion of Human Rights.
- Stimulate participation of the Youth in the public life, facilitating the development of their potential as active and responsible European citizens.
- Promotion of volunteer work in every area of the organization.
- Promotion of the idea of co-development in which immigrants takes an active participation with the aim of favor their potential as development agents in their countries of origin.
