Association for protection and education of children and young Roma - Progress

The idea for establishing the Association for protect and education for children and young people PROGRESS meanly comes from the bad conditions of the Roma children and young people in Republic of Macedonia. Progress is a nongovernmental organization established on 06.04.2001 year, with the main goal to provide integration and inclusion of the Roma youth in the multiethnic society.
Progress successfully implemented many projects in the field of civic community, human rights, education, culture etc. The overall work program of PROGRESS is realized through, conferences, seminars, tribunes, campaigns, symposiums, media appearances and newspapers, education centers and brochures. Association Progress has accomplish several cooperations with American and Swiss Embassy, Fare, Insoc, Open Society fondation and OSI Rio. Association Progress have 4 empoyes and over 50 registered volunteers. Some of our past works are:

1. “Inclusion of young Roma entrepreneurs for equal opportunities.”Activities: Three workshops for business and entrepreneurship (basic knowledge); business incubator Duration of project: 5 months. Donors: City of Skopje; InSoc; Swiss Embassy .Timeline: June-October 2015.

2. “European Mobility Week – Skopje Move” Activities: Day without cars, Skopje SK8, Yoga in park, Mothers heath talk and walk, Picnic in park, Cleaning environment – cleaning action on Vodno, Art contest for alternative transportation, Contest for best chosen bike, Free Block Bus tickets for those who read in bus.• Donors: City of Skopje Timeline: 16-22 September 2015

3. Anticorruption. Activities: workshops with representatives from government institutions, civiv institutions and young Roma. Donors: Government of R.Macedonia;

4. Empowering the women from the Roma ethic community by improvement of their Employment Potentials. Donors Insoc, MCIC and pen society foundation

5. FARE- The Football People weeks
6. Young Empowered Society- YES
7. Folklore festival in Skopje March 2017 ( in Skopje park)
8. Roma traditions project financed by the Ministry of Culture in Macedonia

9. Body and minds in action - Erasmus+ Project - The main goal was to embrace diversity, and to use the theater as a powerful tool to tackle social problems and to find a creative solution to them.
Young people from 10 different countries had the opportunity to share their point of views and to exchange experiences and good practices.
