ASSOCIAÇÃO PARA FORMAÇÃO PROFISSINAL E DESENVOLVIMENTO DE MONTIJO

AFPDM is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 dedicated to local development and training. Born and developed associated with the dynamics of the economy, including the social economy. After 24 years, its activity extends all over the local activities, including training, private and social investment, community and cultural development.
Today is notable by its intervention in the following specific areas:
a) Vocational training
• Is their most important activity for which founded and owns a professional school called PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL MONTIJO, with 300 students and 50 teachers.
• Promotes courses that qualifying professionally young people, whose diploma allows exert a particular profession, become entrepreneurs or continuing university studies.
• Has participated in European programs such as Erasmus - Life-long learning - Leonardo Da Vinci - sending and accepting a large number of young people across Europe, providing them with their first experience in the working world. To develop these activities had to set up huge partnerships with national and European organizations including the Community Programme Youth in Action.
• Has a training office to disseminate and implement training activities and Center for Training and Vocational Education under the Portuguese National Qualifications System assuming a decisive role in forming adults for learning throughout life, employability and entrepreneurship in a perspective of permanent tackling unemployment through increasing the skills of human resources.
• Has also a conservatory to form musicians, designers and trainers.
b) Intervention in socio economic development and youth integration in active life
• Has two specialized offices to support development organizations with or without profit, for which develop and promote training and investment projects in accordance with their needs; and another, to support the insertion or reintegration path of Young and adult public in the labor market in collaboration with the public body responsible for promoting employment and training (IEFP – Portuguese Institute for Employment and vocational Training).
c) Social and community intervention areas:
• NEAR YOU Project promotes the development in rural areas view to increasing the population's quality of life in more vulnerable social conditions situation, through two lines of action: Academy Senior and Workshop at Home.
• TU KONT @ S + Project (you account more project) in its 5th edition since 2004, whose mission is to promote health and social inclusion of children, youth and families, immigrants and ethnic minorities in vulnerable socio-economic contexts.
• RSI Project (Social Insertion Income) - is a protocol with the Portuguese Social Security System since 2010, where a technical team have a responsibility to monitoring the beneficiaries of RSI in different geographical areas, in supporting the integration of people and community families in his re-entry to the labor market;
• CLDS+ Project - is a Social Development Local Agreement, which are intended to promote social inclusion of citizens of multisectoral and integrated way, through actions to be implemented in partnership to fight the persistent poverty and social exclusion in our municipality.

Our mission: AFPDM is an entity dedicated to the qualification of human resources of the region in which it operates, by intervention in education, training and socio-economic dynamics in different areas, establishing strategic, dynamic and functional partnerships.

Our vision: AFPDM want to stand out as a reference organization, innovative and competitive, basing its action on good practices and participatory working methods for the development of training and advisory services; Continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System; Play an active role in social responsibility by promoting best practices of sustainable economic and social development.

Strategic axes framers of projects to develop
I. Strengthening the top management for Quality Management System effectiveness and promote continuous improvement.
II. Develop training courses in level II and IV EU for young people, preparing them for skilled occupations.
III. Ensure the delivery of curriculum monitoring activities.
IV. Develop learning experiences in a real work environment.
V. Promoting employability and entrepreneurship of learners.
VII. Develop training assets or unemployed adults, whose wish to acquire or improve their professional skills.
VIII. Develop pedagogical skills needed for training activity.
IX. Diversifying projects in the field of Education, Training and Culture, including a growing number of partners and users.
X. Strengthening the connection of the Association with the stackholders and the surrounding medium.
XI. Attempt to improve training activities and community service.
XII. Efforts to improve the workshop and laboratory conditions of our school.

We are certified to ISO 9001 since July 2011. Our history and our evolution show that this project is an example of social entrepreneurship and an example of motivation, innovation and creativity in the service of the people and the community.
Our organisation has been developing international projects since 2005, promoting and developing educational actions regarding the development of cultural and social activities, mainly oriented to youth stimulating their active participation in this area of development.
Our formative project follows these overall objectives:
a) Developing training courses adjusted to the needs and perspectives of socio economic development;
b) develop educational training programs for young people;
c) develop educational training programs for adults and youngs, particular in the framework of non-formal and informal learning.
d) Promote projects Training and Continuing Education Lifelong;
e) Ensure the technical and professional development attached to each project;
f) To promote the development of social and relational skills;
g) To promote team work skills, appropriate to the current organizational requirements;
h) To promote responsible citizenship values.
