Associação Juvenil Tá a Mexer

The "Associação Juvenil Tá a Mexer" is a nonprofit organisation. In education, we have a free time ocupation activity center which is open five days in a week. In that space, forty children can play, dance, make teather and do the homeworks. Every day, we receive children before and after school, to help those parents that can not pick their sons at 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm. Most of these children stay with us until 7.30 pm. Besides, we develop free time occupation during Summer, Christmas, Carnival and Easter. Another educational activity is a daily space dedicated only to students: the students have individual classes on the mathers in more difficulty. In this space, the teachers prepare the students to tests, final exams and access to university. Since 2006, we develop two projects in a partnership with the city hall council: on the first one we hire assistants to work in all primary schools from the Lourinhã’s council.These assistants help children in the lunch time and in the breaks of the school, in the morning and afternoon. They also help to clean common spaces. On the second one, we hire teachers of music and theatre to give classes, also in all the schools, since 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm. Once in a week, we have guitar lessons for two different classes of ages. This activity is one of the oldest activities in our organisation. The pupils acquire new knowleadges about rythm and sensitivity.
