WHO WE ARE?
Assalam Community Foundation, a non-governmental organization, was established in 2017 in a Kizimkazi village, Zanzibar. We develop educational facilities for African children and women and bring awareness to non-African people about what they can learn from Africa. Assalam's projects in 5 years to achieve these goals are:
- Assalam International School
- Children University
- Vocational training for single moms and young ladies: They work for Assalam's KangaAfrica brand
- Hosting volunteers worldwide: more than 700 volunteers are hosted
- Permaculture area: Support the community to be self-sufficient, and sustainable
- Vocational Training & Youth Center” :
-Camps on permaculture, survivor, and biology for kids aged 8-17 worldwide, especially from Africa.
-Education in 6 branches such as hotel and tourism management, design, sewing and cloth tailoring, carpentry and joinery, information and communication technologies, permaculture, farming, food and production, electricity installation, animal husbandry,
Partnerships: Tanzania Turkish Embassy, Zanzibar Ministry of Education, Zanzibar Ministry of Tourism, Tika, Turkish Red Crescent, Tanzania Red Cross, some NGOs
The project highlights permaculture as a sustainable solution to food insecurity and climate change through an African inspiration.
