ASSOCIATION OF PAS ALTERNATIV was established in June 2003, on the initiative of 13 founding members.
PAS ALTERNATIVE Brasov is an is a non-governmental, non-profit and apolitical organization whose mission is
• to support disadvantaged people or vulnerable groups of people at risk of exclusion or who are currently in difficult situationsat (women victims of violence, single parents, young people who leave the social residential institutions, alcohol addicts, people diagnosed with cancer, people with different sexual orientation, etc.) by providing complex psicho-social and educational services (counseling, social work, legal advice, information, group of psychotherapy, nonformal learning, etc.)
Also, the organization main aims are:
Community awareness in regard of the utility of psychological, social and educational services aimed specifically for targeted groups
Developing a system of professional development of the members of the organization and its volunteers and developing of a training offer for the community.
Activities:
• Education: campaigns to prevent domestic violence with a focus on violence against women, alternative programs for people with violent behavior, personal and group self-awareness workshops, training courses
• Youth: volunteer programs, specialty practice for students, educational and personal development programs
• Supervision for multidisciplinary teams working in social services
• Psychotherapy for couples, family, individual and groups
Team
Members of the association: 5 psychologists specialized in counseling victims of violence; 1 psychologist specialized in counseling alcohol addicts and their families; 3 psychologists specialized in working with disillusioned children; 1 psychologist specialized in counseling persons with aggressive behavior; 4 psychotherapists (family psychotherapy, couple counseling, support groups); 1 NLP coach; 1 social services supervisor; 4 psychologist-trainers for violence component in the family, dependence/addictions; independent life skills, personal improvement.
Collaborators: lawyer, sociologist, accountant
Volunteers: students/graduates of The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences – Transilvania University Braşov, young people
The project aim is to develop specific competences for youth workers in order to provide personal development methods
