We are:
- 10 years old as the Orthodox Philanthropy Association Alba Iulia
- 16 years old as the Social Assistance Compartment
Social/Care and Educational Services Map: (Alba County, Mureş County):
residential services for children; day services for children; special schools for children; residential services for elders; socio-medical home care services for elders; day services for elders; services provided in emergency, crisis centers; services for people with disabilities; counseling offices; social canteens; medical center – dentistry. The Orthodox Archiepiscopate of Alba Iulia developed the largest social assistance network from the Romanian Patriarchate.

Our activity:
 Activities with 575 children that benefit of protection and caring in the Philanthropy’s Institutions:

- Artistic programs, exhibitions

The philanthropic activity of the Archiepiscopate is realized through the Social Assistance Compartment (1995) and the Orthodox Philanthropy Association (2001). The two entities were founded as a need of orthodox social assistance in Alba and Mureş Counties.
The Philanthropic deeds aim to enhance the quality of the community’s life by offering accredited social services, medical, educational, vocational, cultural and ecumenical services.

- Data administration in the electronic system courses
- Social assistants’ Summer School
- Exchange of good practices
- Development of social and civic competences courses
- Workshops for implementation of christian non-formal methods and techniques in adult education and personal development.
 For people in need:
- Orphans, abandoned and neglected children
- Children at risk of dropping out from school
- Elders
- People with disabilities
- People in crisis situations
- People addicted to alcohol
- Needy persons
- People in post detention
- People that are under the protection of the state
Philanthropy has 64 different social centers: for children, in residential care, in day care and for adults: in residential care, in day care, home care, social canteens, counseling – approximately persons/year.
Also, 75 social services, the functioning of these is mostly based on the exceptional partnership with the public local and county authorities, the effort of the priests that coordinate the activities and the extern financiers (European Funds).
