Afric‘ Forum is an organizational frame that permits the building of an action network centered on the individual, on the African Diaspora in the Basque Country and in Europe in order to get them involved in the development process here as well as in their home lands. Our action fields include education, training, human rights, peace building, environment protection, sustainable development.
Afric Forum since its birth has implemented various projects:
2013:- Information and sensitization on female mutilations in Burkina Faso, a project supported by the 07 fund of health workers of the Basque Government
2010: - Conference on the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals en Africa, with the support of LAN ekintza, Cluster Gaia and the Biscay Regional Committee
2011:- Information and training program for the African Diaspora on sustainable Development
2012:- Study on the participation of the African Diaspora Youth in cultural activities and programs in the Biscay province. Study realized with the support of the Biscay provincial government.
2012: - Project “Afrika Kontuan” – with the support of the Biscay provincial government and of the Basque. It is a project aimed at facilitating the cultural integration between the African and Basque communities by publishing relates of African traditional fairy tales. The books are designed for education use in primary and secondary schools and other training centers. This helps the students to get acquainted with the African culture and ways of life.
2012:- Life Stories, a project aimed at involving the African Diaspora Youths in the Basque peace process. The project is implemented with the support of the Basque Government.
2013:-Conference and round table on “Climate Change and sustainable development, future perspectives for West Africa”. The target was the leaders of African Diaspora Youth organization.

Actually Afric Forum has a center called “Centro Soyinka”. It is a local where one in a month a movie related to the realities of the African continent is released. These movies are produced by African men and women. After each release a debate is organized so that all the participants could share their points and views.
In the same center Afric Forum organizes conferences, trainings. It is also at the disposal of the various African Diaspora organizations for their meetings and events.
A part from that we also have a program called “registro de competencias” or registry of competencies. The aim of the activity is to collect data on the African Diaspora Youth, educational background, professional experience, and future goals.

Locally Afric Forum is member of the Bilbao local immigration council and has a high level partnership with the Biscay Regional Administration Council and with the Basque Government. At the global level we are member of the African Diaspora Youth Network in Europe (ADYNE), the Earth Day Network, the Clean up the world initiative, the 350 International Movements, the www.thinkingitglobal.org virtual initiative.
With this partnership with Water Education for Teachers (Project WET), Afric Forum intents to form part of the network that dedicates its efforts, energy and resources for the preservation and conservation of the most precious natural resource we possess represents. We put a big emphasis on education as a means to change things and build a more just and a better society.
