Asociacion Murciana de Rehabilitacion Psicosocial

The Murcia Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation is an association of professionals in the field of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia, which aims to organize and manage psychosocial rehabilitation programs for mental sick, drug addicts and relatives. Simultaneously we collaborate with public agencies working in psychosocial rehabilitation and support efforts to reduce relapse rates and level of disability and substance abuse. Our Association is funded by Murcia Health Service, and his intervention is in constant coordination with the Community Services, complementing the psychopharmacological, psychotherapeutic and rehabilitative treatment being carried out on the network of Mental Health and Addictions. Since its inception in 2004, the Association has managed and developed several projects to promote access to prelabour training and the labor market of people with mental illness, former drug addicts. We consider work and productive life as a key to full integration into society factor.

Our association has extensive experience in the development of European projects, the project “Iniciativa EQUAL IBN ARABI 2004-2007”, funded by the European Social Fund which allowed the creation of Leisure Park “Los Juncos” in Molina de Segura (Murcia ) as a training and job creation place for people with mental illness and former drug abusers. He was also selected by the European Commission as a model of good practice.

We note also the “GRUNDTVIG PROJECT”, European lifelong learning program, led by our association and involving France, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Sweden and Turkey. And that allowed a user group and professionals share formative experiences in Sweden and Turkey.

Currently, we developed a program based on the reinsertion of people with dual pathology (ISOL), with the aim of facilitating access to pre labour training and the labor market by conducting training activities, tutoring and support in active job search. Since 2007 until today, almost 1,800 people have benefited from the services and programs developed by our association in the Region of Murcia. More than 300 people have entered in the labour market through standardized jobs in companies and insertion companies launched by the Association.
