Asociación La Frontera Social

La Frontera Social (The Social Frontier) is a Spanish non-profit organization founded in 1991 in Madrid; its primary mission is to promote social inclusion, defend human rights, and provide comprehensive support to children, youth, and families who are experiencing social vulnerability, marginalization, or are at risk of social exclusion.
It works through several major pillars to address both immediate material needs and long-term personal development:
Social & Labor Integration: designing tailored socio-labor integration programs (employment itineraries) specifically targeting vulnerable youth, the Roma (gitano) community, and immigrants. Operating as an official placement agency, offering professional training, career guidance, and job search support.
Educational Support & Absenteeism Prevention - running specialized projects in schools to combat truancy and school dropouts among vulnerable demographics; this line of action includes academic tutoring, family-school mediation, and promoting the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Emergency Social Relief - addressing basic survival needs by running food bank distributions in coordination with major networks, ensuring families in extreme poverty have access to food and essential hygiene products.
Leisure, Nature, & Youth Education - with a strong focus in non-formal education, managing youth hostels (Albergue Juvenil), nature classrooms (Aula de la Naturaleza), summer camps, and urban holiday schools. As well as sponsoring local scout groups (such as Grupo Scout Orión and Grupo Scout Andrómeda) to foster personal growth, teamwork, and environmental awareness
