COINED is a non-profit organization which was established with the aim to develop and promote international education and intercultural exchange.
Our programs contribute to develop and broaden the horizons of the participants and the communities where they are placed, contributing to the people’s understanding and development through international educational exchange.
Today, with over 38 years experience, COINED has his own shoolc and/or offices in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Spain, Germany and the United States. Through partner organizations we have representation in most of the world, allowing us to offer programs for all tastes and all ages. COINED offers summer camps, language courses, internships, Au Pair, Work and Travel and school exchange.
COINED Is an organization accredited by European volunteer programs, “Youth in Action” and mobility projects “Leonardo Da Vinci” in addition to belonging to organizations recognized internationally as WYSE Work Abroad, GWEA and ALTO, which guarantee our quality level and trajectory .
History
COINED was funded as a nonprofit organization in 1971, in the city of Cuxhaven, Germany, by a German theology student and an Argentine student who met during their studies at a university in the United States of America.
These young entrepreneurs initially gave rise to the educational – cultural exchange program with students from German and Argentine institutes. Later, the organization was growing and adding other intercultural programs with the objective of promoting cultural and educational interaction between the peoples of the world. In 2006, COINED turned thirty-five years old. Today, COINED has offices in Germany, Spain, Argentina, Miami and Costa Rica. And we have schools in Guatemala, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
Each year, we receive support and help of young people who selflessly contribute with COINED through their expertise and contacts. In this way, they help us to grow and develop. We appreciate the constant participation of companies and institutions of different fields in our environment. They annually receive our foreign participants and give them the chance to gain internship and volunteer experiences.

Objectives
We strongly believe in mutual respect among different cultures and nations, which leads to creating opportunities for interaction among people who value the opportunity for intercultural learning. Our participants, organizations and companies are enriched with new experiences, while they collaborate with the development of our society both intellectual and humanitarian level.
We pretend to contribute with the society being actors and not only spectators, in the service of people who most need and by the rapprochement between peoples and their habitants.
We provide our participants the opportunity to travel to another country, to experience another culture and a new language, thereby obtaining a unique intercultural learning.
Since the beginning, the organization is based in the social responsibility concept. It is a cultural exchange bridge between organizations and individuals willing to teach and learn, share and enrich themselves, to give and receive. COINED is the most effective link between”citizens of the word”
For the companies with social conscience – COINED focuses in an effective way the companies’ social inversions.
For citizens and foreigners – COINED allows an approach to the problematic which the local community faces up every day.
For all – COINED is the appropriate link between those working for a positive change in the quality of life in the country.
COINED Spain promotes the grants Leonardo Da Vinci, making arrangements with organizations, schools and companies to send and receive Spanish participants who will do their Leonardo Da Vinci programs in Europe.
COINED Spain participates in European Volunteer Service as a coordinator organization of sending and reception of European volunteer programs. This allows us to send and receive awarded participants from and to Europe and we coordinate other Spanish, European and international organizations in European projects.
