Inspired by Feminist Philosophy we believe that feminism is a tool to achieve equal opportunities and social change. Small acts, make a big change!
Our mission is to promote the autonomy and empowerment of women, especially of women with less opportunities and risk of social exclusion.
Our vision is a fairer world for women, where women and men have the same rights and duties, and they are an active part of the decision-making process.
Xurtir work in coordination with some municipalities and the government of the Principality of Asturias. We have several inclusion projects for women in social risk or with less opportunities, from sixteen on, related with non-formal education, occupational training, employment, leisure time and participation.
We also work towards inform and bring awareness about the importance of Equal Opportunities for everybody. Our awareness campaigns focus on young people from 15 till 17 years old. We also have some specific actions related with children from 6 till 12 years old.
To achieve that we organize different kind of activities for women ( vocational courses, workshops, leisure time activities, meetings and conferences, participative activities, etc) and for young people (awareness campaigns about Equal Opportunities between men and women, non violence, human rights, etc.).
