Asociace Karvina Sustainably

This group is eager to follow the Sustainable Development Goals agenda 2030 by the UN and become an important voice in development of former heavy industrial area. The main activity is to work regularly throughout the year and to strive for sustainability in the area of work with children, youth and adults by means of formal and informal education. Apart from Czech citizens, Karvina Sustainably z. s. aims to provide informational and advisory services to youth, as well as the general public on the problematic of sustainability and protection of our planet, as well as non-formal education, leisure activities for children, youth and adults. Moreover, Karvina Sustainably actively contributes to the environmental and animal protection, fighting racisim and xenophobia. As stated above, Karvina Sustainably aims to lead the way towards meeting the goals of the sustainable development agenda, namely mainly in socio-economic and environmental development. Primarily, the non-governmental organisation focuses on the sustainable development goal 16 which deals with creation of an inclusive society.

One of the priorities of Karvina Sustainably z. s. is the participation, preparation and implementation of projects within the European educational programme ERASMUS +, namely international Erasmus + projects. Karvina Sustainably organizes informal educational TC and youth exchanges, as well as volunteering via European Solidarity Corps. Besides this, Karvina Sustainably organises additional youth projects, such as youth parliament, structured dialogues, suburban camps, active citizenship, digital competences, environmental projects, projects promoting inclusion inclusion of disadvantaged young people, leisure-type activities for the most vulnerable groups in society (table tennis lessons, chess tournaments, music lessons and playing musical instruments, language learning, English, Russian,French, Spanish. In fact, aforementioned activities serve as a manner of integrating the most vulnerable groups into society properly. Furthermore, Karvina Sustainably offers IT courses for unemployed and elderly people, as well as Czech language courses for foreigners coming from ethnic minorities. Additionally, Karvina Sustainably is raising awareness of foreign cultures and thereby, aims to improve cultural awarness and to diminish discrimination in the Karvina district. Lastly, Karvina Sustainably also looks into problematic of human rights violations and international development.
