Since 2006, ASASS in Burundi run various programs focused on:
1.EDUCATION, SCHOLARSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS- promote access to education, quality teaching and learning environment among the disadvantaged children and women by building community schools, furnishing them, training teachers and providing scholarships to students in developing countries who face unexpected financial problems.
2. GIRLS AND WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND HUMAN RIGHTS- Strengthening capacity of women, micro-loans, saving, grant-making, and technical vocational training skills for women and women leadership in governance.
3. ENVIRONMENT PRESERVATION, FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION-Trees planting, enriched nutrition intake for children and the most vulnerable community members, including distributions and trainings in health and nutrition.
4. WATER, SANITATION AND HYGIENE (WASH)-Establishing more equitable distribution and access to water through structures and community systems, complemented with trainings in Water, Health, hygiene and sanitation, community development and management.
5. HEALTHCARE AND PREVENTION-Addressing overall community health and well-being through awareness-raising, healthy lifestyle practices, care, treatments and basic mitigation measures.
7. TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL SKILLS AND ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT-Giving the families living at the poor levels, a sustainable mean for earning income to better live dignified living conditions by providing micro-loans to start micro business activities to generate income by addressing social, economic, and environmental and ICT gaps in their communities. ASASS empowers adults through alphabetization, technical vocational education and training (TVET) and entrepreneurship skills needed for people who need foundation for their life.
