Argonauti Soc Coop Sociale

The Social Cooperative Argonauti was created in 1999 by a group of volunteers till then engaged in the social association Arciragazzi in Palermo, Italy.
Main aims of the cooperative are the promotion of child and youth rights and the empowerment of youth.
Inspired by the Principles stated in the United Nations Convention on child rights, the cooperative promote tools and projects of social inclusion, protection and participation of young people, supporting educational formal and informal processes, active citizenship tools networking at all levels from the local to the international.
In its activities the cooperative aims to involve different actors dealing with social issues, such as public bodies and services, associations, non governmental organizations, representatives of the so called “third sector”.
The Cooperative is characterized for the technical-scientific approach that shapes a method of integrated involvement of institutional subjects and the social private sector, based on the active and equal participation of the children, the young people and the adults, both in conditions of “social normality” and in conditions of social and/or personal uneasiness and disadvantaged background.
Activities include: planning, fund-raising, implementation and coordination of projects and territorial plans of action, trainings for teachers and youth workers, local, national and international projects.
