Arci Toscana

What ARCI is:
ARCI is an association of social promotion that operates in many fields, all connected with the principles of promotion of rights and social inclusion.
The association was founded in 1957.
Today ARCI is the biggest Italian association and it counts around 1.300.000 members.
It is organized in “circoli” (clubs), local, regional and national commitees and volunteers carry on most of the activities. Altogether, they create a rich democratic tissue and active participation all across Italy.
ARCI promotes and supports associations as a factor of social cohesion, a place for civil and democratic commitment, a place where assert rights of citizenship and fight against every way of exclusion and discrimination.

What ARCI TOSCANA is:
ARCI Comitato Regionale Toscano is a regional committee of a national association, ARCI
(Associazione Ricreativa e Culturale Italiana).
The local and regional commitees can have different sectors of intervention according to the needs and the resources of an area.
In Tuscany, there are 17 local commitees and 1365 “circoli”, with 179.421 members
