Archeoclub d'Italia di Campobello di Licata

The Archeoclub of Campobello di Licata is a cultural association founded in 1998 with the main objective of enhancement of cultural heritage, as well as education, training and the promotion of local culture.

These objectives have been developed through the Kalat project, a strategic initiative that thanks to a positive cost / benefit ratio, has allowed the approval of: an Innovative Action for Employment of the Italian Ministry of Labor; an exemplary project in the South Region of Italy for CONILSUD Foundation; a lot of initiatives including Summer international meeting on local culture, permanent exhibitions and workshops, youth mobility initiatives, a Documentation center and personal growth courses, initiatives for legality.

For the European Voluntary Service since 2000, Archeoclub of Campobello di Licata, as Sending Organization, sent 19 young people in different European countries, while as of Hospitality Organization received 93 volunteers with "Nicefield" projects, "Celtyk" and "Survey" "Infgiò ',' T4D", "Sentierice", "KISS".

The association:
• From 1999 to date: mapped the archaeological ruins of 95% of the municipality of Campobello di Licata, discovering 184 archaeological sites;
• From 1999 to 2014: organized every year in Campobello di Licata of field archeology school that involved about 1300 young people directly from Italy and abroad.
• From 2000 to 2004: recovering an archaeological site abandoned and degraded, it initiated the establishment of the Old Park Iachinu Filì.
• From 2001 to 2010: he ran the point Decentralized local Eurodesk European network.
• In 2008: he created "Archeolodida", an educational workshop on 'archeology.
• In 2010: he created a permanent exhibition with the results of archaeological research conducted in the municipality.
• From 2011 to 2014 he coordinated the project of the Foundation with the South, QLT (Quantum Leap Trend) in collaboration with other 12 local authorities (Athena cooperative; ISTAS Association; AGRI.CA Consortium, Caritas, Confindustria, CNA, Confcooperative, Confartigianato, Astra Agrigento; Campobello Ravanusa and municipalities), aimed at the realization of local development initiatives in areas of Sicily with a strong socio-economic disadvantage.
• From 2015 to 2017 he completed the recovery and preparation of the Kalat Center called KISS (Kalat International Summer School): a 800 sq m municipal building with a guest house for 30 people, a place for temporary exhibitions, a multipurpose room, a kitchen , a Documentation Center, rooms for offices, classrooms for training courses and workshops.

Archeoclub currently operates:
• an office of about 36 square meters in the Municipal Cultural Center;
• A 50 sqm warehouse.
• An apartment of 50 square meters house in which are housed foreign volunteers and collaborators;
• The Kalat Center called KISS (Kalat International Summer School) of 800 square meters;
