Aps Reset

The association Reset was born with the purpose of promoting the culture of solidarity and of sociality through forms of self-organization of citizens as the only way to respond to the needs of the national and international community. It has promoted actions of social utility and collective value engaging in cultural and educational campaigns and activities that have the purpose of defending peace, pluralism, solidarity between the peoples, the defense of the principles of equality and freedom and the protection of human, civil and social rights. It is committed to spreading a culture of non-violence for the defense of common goods, for the establishment of an inclusive society respectful of minorities, of an ethical economic model based on respect for the needs of the weak and devoted to protect the environment and the territory.

The association Reset will realize this project in collaboration with the Millepiani consortium that manages the “Cecilia – centro per la creatività” a space dedicated to multidisciplinarity, a place of experimentation and a shared work environment for the development of innovative projects. Cecilia pursues beauty in all its forms and believes in people even before the things. Attentive to its territory and its people, its gaze is turned towards the world, pursuing with perseverance and commitment the objective of becoming a meeting point for cultures and languages; a meeting place and a point of reference for those who want to change the world, experimenting, training, teaching and above all having fun.

The objective of the project “Border lifes” promoted by the association Reset, is to use photography as a means of communication and of exchange between cultures to go beyond the barriers and to overcome frontiers that characterize post-modern society.

During the two weeks of hospitality young people, aged between 18 and 25 years old, as a priority coming from Greece, Hungary, Serbia, Austria, Bulgaria and Romania, photography enthusiasts, will measure themselves with the theme of migration, places of transit and of landing to catch analogies, differences and nuances to tell, through their shots, stories of life and territories.

During the first week of exchange, guests will be offered basic training that will allow them to develop or strengthen the basic technical skills needed to create a photographic project that captures the complexity of the daily life of vulnerable people and territories.

In the second week of the project, participants will be able to experiment the acquired knowledge declining in an original way the macro-theme “border lifes”. Visiting the most evocative places of Basilicata, a small region of southern Italy, marked by depopulation, reception of immigrants and in search of a cultural rebirth connected to the designation of Matera as European Capital of Culture for 2019, they will be able to realize a report that tells their personal interpretation of the chosen theme, in an attempt to make the viewer aware of the positive potential of ethnic and cultural differences, interconnection and encounters.
