The European Campus, EC, is a third sector organization, born in 2011, based in San Severo, Italy, working in the field of youth, education and human right.
The EC was born in 2011 by the idea and commitment of two young adults willing to counter the early school leaving. Since then, the EC has gone through a significant growth and has achieved many other goals on the field of youth, education and human right. Countering early school leaving was the first mission of the EC then, and it still is. The EC works to provide education and collaborate with several high school so as to give a chance to early school leavers to redeem them-selves. The EC is committed to provide quality education also to pursue the goal number 4 of the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development. Later, the EC has won indirect European calls from Apulia Region. The action the EC is committed with is action 8.6, Interventions of conciliation (Women and Men Inclusive), an action that promotes integration and is aimed to avoid gender inequality (goal number 5, Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development). The EC is authorized by Apulia Region to provide cultural, social and educational services. This allows the EC to be part of the economic work and to promote job placement (Goal number 8, Agenda 2030 for sustainable developement). The EC collaborates with many public bodies and universities; It is a university research organization in the social and economic field recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.
Fields of work: non-formal education, youth, human rights, intercultural dialogue, gender related issues, economics and art.
Mission: promote cultural initiatives, promote creativity as an instrument of knowledge, defend culture, promote integration among different cultures, promote cultural exchange, promote education among people, become a point of reference for our territory, promote orientation among young people in order to avoid early school leaving.
Staff and volunteers: The organization has 7 paid staff (project managers, finance managers, volunteer coordinators, pedagogists, expert in the education field, cultural mediators, educators), 3 external collaborators, volunteers and members.
