Antalya Contemporary Education and Culture Foundation

ANTÇEV(ANTALYA CONTEMPORARY EDUCATİON AND CULTURE FOUNDATION) is a nongovernmental organization, which was founded by 228 volunteers in 1995. As a result of deaths and resignations of the members who are not active, the current number of the members is 150.
For the purpose of establishing and maintaining secular and democratic Turkey, ANTÇEV tries to contribute to the education of the young people which makes possible for them to think freely and express themselves confidently. In order to serve for this goal, our foundation focuses on contemporary education and works on projects for the education of children, young peple, teachers, parents and adults. For this purpose, we want to build dormitories and youth centers.

ANTCEV also has been providing scholarships for successful and gifted university students, who don’t have enough financial support to continue their education.
We support selected primary schools, which are located in the disadvantaged areas in Antalya by organizing seminars and courses, backing –up them with the contribution of our scholars. We also provide these schools with necessary equipment and personal needs, such as clothing and needed tools and materials.
Activities of our foundation are direct education of youths and their parents.
Our projects are carried out within the borders of Antalya province.
Next year, we are planning to open a youth center for students and young activists. It is planned to build a 3000 m2closed area. The upper floors of the building is planned for accommodation, work shops, library, etc. We are also planning to give opportunities to young generations for improving their skills and perspectives by organizing a student academy. We have collected 1.900.000 TL and we need extra 1.500.000 TL in order to achieve our goals. We are about to buy the land for our center which is located in an underdeveloped area and geographically very close to many primary and secondary schools. In addition, one of our members has donated at a nearby building 9 aparts for accommodation of the students. In planning the building, we shall use the entrance floor and the first basement for renting to the supermarket chains in order to gain sustainable income to the Foundation. We are also planning to use 2.and 3. basement floors as a car parking lot for the same purpose.
