The Ankara Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Family and Social Services is a public authority operating at the local level in Türkiye, responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a wide range of social services for individuals, families, and vulnerable groups. The Directorate works in line with national social policies and legislation, ensuring access to preventive, protective, and rehabilitative services across the province.
Its areas of responsibility include child and family services, women’s services, services for persons with disabilities and older adults, social assistance, community-based interventions, and psychosocial support. A core function of the Directorate is the organization and coordination of psychosocial support services in disaster and emergency situations. In this context, it plays a key role in local disaster response mechanisms by mobilizing trained psychosocial support personnel, coordinating inter-institutional cooperation, and ensuring continuity of care for affected populations.
The Directorate actively collaborates with central government units, local administrations, universities, non-governmental organizations, and international partners. Through training, capacity-building activities, and field-based practices, it aims to strengthen disaster preparedness, resilience, and the well-being of both affected communities and professionals working in high-risk and high-stress contexts.
We are seeking European partners to jointly strengthen resilience, self-care, and disaster preparedness of psychosocial support professionals.
