Ankara Metropolitan Municipality City Council Youth Assembly

The Capital Youth Assembly (Ankara City Council Youth Assembly) is a concrete output of the process that started with the 1992 Rio Earth Summit and paved the way for democratic participation for a sustainable future known as “Local Agenda 21” in Turkey. All of the mechanisms that ensure the empowerment of young people living in Ankara between the ages of 15-30, who develop themselves and their city and develop solutions to existing problems through local participation, have taken the form of the Capital Youth Assembly. The Capital Youth Assembly was established with the aim of rejuvenating the city administration and determining youth policies by the youth, without any tendency to politicize, which allows all youth in Ankara to have differences such as religion, language, ideology and political identity with their specific weight in their own pot with its supra-political position. No decision-making mechanism was a pioneer in its establishment, and it is a youth association that covers all young segments of Ankara as a result of the common mind efforts between the Ankara City Council and the young people in line with the demands of the youth.
