Alter Ego Iuventum

"Different, but together!" This is the vision under which our association is acting for 6 years, to support the young people in our city. The association was founded in 2007, by students and teachers from LTNB. Most of its members are aged between 15 and 25 years; they become members when they are students, but they retain their membership when they graduate and leave the city.
Association mission is:
• to promote and support young people in the educational process and personal training
• to provide opportunities for practicing European attitudes
• to stimulate the gifted students
• to strengthen social cohesion at youth level
• to carry projects and partnerships with national and international youth organizations
• to actively involve in the eradication of the phenomenon of school drop-out among students, mainly targeting the disadvantaged children categories
• to prevent and combat the marginalization and social exclusion among young people from Medgidia

We're trying to help our colleagues who have a very good performance at school, but especially those who, due to poor material situation, can't attend courses and are in danger of school drop-out. We also have Roma colleagues that we want to integrate in our activities to reduce the social exclusion to which they are sometimes put under. The money that the association raise through performances, campaigns, sponsorships, are intended for those LTNB's students who do not always have enough money for clothes, school supplies, transportation.
All our activities are organised by students, for students, with the help of students and teachers. Examples of activities:
• charitable activities to collect money, food and toys during religious holidays (Easter, Christmas);
• achievement of charitable performances (balls, parties with donations).
• students' involvement in the international conference YES EVENT (which, in 2007, was organised in Medgidia, where we had 1,200 guests, young people from 11 European countries);
• sports competitions (basketball, volleyball, soccer); the foundation, in 2012, of a sport club for all, called <I heart sport>, in partnership with Junior Achievement and Astra Zeneca;
• watching educational movies;
• ecological tours ,every summer, in the mountains of Romania (Ceahlău, Rodnei, Parâng, Făgăraș, Retezat);
• educational trips (museums and tourist attractions, historical sites, religious attractions);
• partnerships with universities ( Univeristy of Bucharest, Ovidius University of Constanta);
• the launch of an online radio station <Radio LTNB> ( April 2012);
