ALC Afro Latino Caribbean ry

ALC Afro Latino Caribbean ry is a Turku-based association promoting Afro-Latino-Caribbean culture, inclusion, community engagement and cultural exchange through music, dance, arts and collaborative activities. Beyond organising the annual Sounds of the South (SOS) Festival, ALC aims to develop year-round activities that bring people from different cultural backgrounds together, strengthen community connections and create opportunities for artists, young people and families.

ALC’s activities include cultural performances, dance and music collaborations, fashion shows, public cultural events, networking opportunities and partnerships with local organisations. Through initiatives such as **One Rhythm, Many Roots**, ALC seeks to bring Finnish and Afro-Latino-Caribbean artists together to explore shared creative expression through music, dance and cultural traditions.

The association is also interested in developing international cooperation and European-funded projects, particularly youth exchanges, intercultural learning, inclusion and opportunities for young people to participate in creative and collaborative activities. By expanding beyond its annual festival, ALC aims to build sustainable partnerships and create more opportunities for cultural participation, learning and community involvement throughout the year.
