Akademi Foundation has been working towards this goal since 2019 when in collaboration with UNICEF Albania and the Ministry of Education and Sports and Youth Akademi.al was created in reaction to the Covid-19 that forces schools to close forcing thousands of teachers and students to rely on unconventional teaching methods. Through Akademi.al the online learning tool for pre-university students in Albania, so far, our organization has reached 90% of Albanian students and our platform has promoted access to over 15000 quality pre-university education lessons for over 400,000 registered users. Akademi Foundation has in its core goals to tackle Albania’s educational needs and achieve inclusive, accessible, and quality education, by fostering innovative solutions in how educational outcomes can be achieved. To this end, we have adapted over 290 courses to ensure access to our platform to children with visual or hearing impairments and feature 20 courses in sign language with more than 1000 video lectures adjusted. By promoting online registered courses and online live courses we help children with physical impairments to attend school we advocate for free and equal access to quality education for all children.
