- Background and Experience -

Associação Local de Juventude das Beiras e Serra da Estrela is a recent association from Covilhã, Portugal. Our goals are strengthening the ties between youth associations in Europe, but mostly in the Iberic region, promotion of voluntary work and activities in order to teach and train young people new skills and gain experience for their personal development. We also aim to promote portuguese cultural heritage and it’s uniqueness in Europe and worldwide.

Our future plans are connected with youth work, non-formal education and international cooperation within ''Erasmus+''. We wish to promote social entrepreneurship, and the introduction of new creative teaching methods by using non-formal education techniques. We also aim to promote social entrepreneurship, especially focusing on rural areas of Portugal. We wish to encourage young people from countryside to become more creative in the field of entrepreneurship and employ themselves and other people in their communities.

- Skills and Expertise of Key Staff -

Our association is new, but our members have had experience working in other organizations and applying for Erasmus + projects and implementing them. Our members have had experience with the organization and implementation of several training courses in Portugal.
It's also important to refer that our national networking is very wide because of that same expertise and gathers all type of Social Enterprises, NGO’s and Local Municipalities.
Our team is very well balanced to cover all the necessary skills and expertise needed for a successful project management and implementation. We are actively working on innovative projects towards involvement of technology and multimedia in non-formal education in Portugal. As well as developing social entrepreneurship initiatives for rural areas.
