Adıyaman Anadolu Lisesi

Our school is located in Adıyaman which is in the South east of Turkey. Mt. Nemrut, which was made a World heritage site by UNESCO in 1987, is in Adıyaman. Many different ethnic people live here. This is our richness and they live in peace and happily.
Adıyaman has a predominantly agricutural based economy. There is so little industry within the area and students will mainly find employment or progress to higher education within their university lifes. Our students are selected students. After passing some national exams, our students begin to attend our school. They are hardworking and open to innovation. Both students and teachers are eager to do something useful with foreign people. This project will foster a great understanding and empathy towards the different languages, cultures and ways of life of both pupil and teachers.
The school is located in the suburb of the city and the people living around are mainly from poor families. Thus it can be considered as a disadvantaged area. There are some pupils who can not be motivated and supported by their families. Their involvement in such an international project will provide them to work in groups and be integrated in international level, work harder to get a good career and this will prevent them from the risk of social exclusion.
Some of our students have migrated from villages and live in the boarding house. The students are from different ethnic groups, therefore an international collaboration will supply positive perspectives for their vision.
