ADASCI – Asociación para el Desarrollo, Apoyo Social, Cooperación e Inclusión is a non-profit association founded in Zamora (Castilla y León, Spain) in September 2020. Although our scope of action is national, we have strong roots and a solid track record in Castilla y León.
Our mission is to promote equal opportunities and equal treatment between women and men, to eradicate all forms of gender-based violence and to defend the wellbeing and social inclusion of vulnerable groups, with a particular focus on children, young people and women.
Areas of work
Gender equality and co-education: training and socio-educational projects to break down gender roles and stereotypes, promote caring masculinities and foster healthy, respectful relationships.
Prevention of gender-based violence: awareness-raising, training and intervention on sexual violence, cyberviolence and trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Children and youth: non-formal education in schools to prevent bullying and peer violence, promote sexual health and encourage safe, responsible use of the internet and social media.
Applied social research: quantitative and qualitative studies on young people’s attitudes and perceptions, and impact evaluation of social programmes.
Inclusion and accessibility: accessible training resources, participatory methodologies and digital tools for people with intellectual disabilities and other marginalised groups.
Experience
Since 2021 we have managed projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Equality, Zamora City Council, the Provincial Councils of Zamora and Valladolid and several local councils. Highlights include:
a nationwide online training programme on equality and gender for professionals and volunteers (2023)
a study of secondary school students’ attitudes towards gender-based violence in Zamora
the co-educational programme “Ni soy héroe ni sirena” in schools in Medina del Campo
technical conferences on supporting women trafficked for sexual exploitation
an interactive, easy-to-read guide on gender-based violence for women with intellectual disabilities
What we bring to partnerships
We have multidisciplinary teams of trainers, researchers and social educators, proven experience in technical and financial management of public grants, and expertise in participatory, accessible methodologies. We are looking for European partners to share good practices and develop joint projects in youth work, gender equality and social inclusion.
