Active Women Association

Active Women Associationis a non-governmental non-profit organization that acts for social inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable groups /youth, seniors, women, minorities/, spreads tolerance, gender equality, civic participation, democracy and relevant European values.

For 20 years we have been engaged in European non-formal education and partnerships: Ka2 Strategic Partnerships of education staff, exchange of experiences with partners, KA1 European mobilities, European Voluntary Service, Senior Volunteer Projects, European Solidarity Corps, Capacity Building in the field of youth, Erasmus+ Sport projects.

Main types of actions: non-formal education, social & media campaigns, networking & coalitions, strategic learning partnerships, lobbying, actions of local civic participation, advocacy, counselling, educational services, production of the movies and publications, innovative teaching/learning materials, elaboration of the innovative methodologies.

We are strongly engaged in intercultural activities and intercultural journeys, we have run our empowering projects in North Africa, Asia, Middle East, US and Europe.
We managed to establish many links for transnational cooperation and nowadays we cultivate fruitful partnerships and networking projects cherishing multicultural diversity.

Our Goals:

- Development of innovative youth and adult non-formal education for vulnerable groups

- Increase the civic participation in public, social, professional and cultural life

- Promotion of health, especially reproductive health and healthy lifestyle

- Prevention of the social problems based on stereotypes and prejudice, with particular emphasis on the rights of women, children and disadvantaged groups due to the social status, national origin, religion, lifestyle and sexual orientation,

- Protection of human rights, equal opportunities and rights for women and men in all areas of life,

-Prevention of violence against women, girls, children and other vulnerable groups

-Implementation of the programs that contribute to reduction of unemployment through social mobilization, including the promotion of volunteering and vocational integration and reintegration of the unemployed,

-Running educational programs and campaigns that contribute to the growth of interest in social activities and voluntreering

-Support to the development of democracy and civil society by promoting the participation of citizens in the local community and stimulating pro-social attitudes, with particular emphasis on measures to combat exclusion and social pathologies,

-Promotion and development of culture, arts, protection of culture and tradition, raising the level of cultural awareness, strengthening of cultural competences

- Intercultural education, activities to promote dialogue between cultures and citizens of the global village

- Promotion and spreading of the methods of personal and spiritual development

- Promotion of alternative forms of leisure and travelling, mindful tourism, promotion of the idea “sport for all”, sport for social inclusion

- Support in the form of training and information for NGOs, capacity building actions

- Building intercultural bridges of cooperation - networking and coalitions among European and international organizations

- Community building in the local environment, settling the sharing circles
