Active Development Association

Active Development Association was formed following the "Youth.ways" project, Action 1.2 - Youth Initiatives, of the informal group of young people Youth.now, a group founded in the summer of 2011 out of passion for non-formal education and active involvement of young people in the community.

Active Development Association aims to initiate, promote and implement sustainable and active development measures regarding the quality of life, seeking to build a responsible and active society in terms of cultural, educational, social and environmental development.

Active Develomplent Association team consists of two generations of active volunteers, aged between 16 – 25 years old, with different experiences and different roles in the NGO.

Our objectives are:

a. To organize activities for the development of the quality of life, including to support of the legislative initiatives that aim the economical, social, cultural, educational and ecological development.

b. To identify the local, regional and national issues and the projection of solutions in partnership with public and private sector.

c. To organize training courses, seminaries, conferences, public debates, and to organize public manifestations and other activities for public awarness of the importance of active development.

d. To promote the importance of the education in general and the civic responsibility for the active development of the society.

e. To promote the social inclusion of the young people with fewer opportunities.

f. To develop new programs with national and international partners and public authorities.

The project aimed to inform, guide and educate the professional dimension of young people from rural areas.
Activities implemented under the project: Conferences, OpenSpace, Living Library, Training in entrepreneurship.

As an NGO:

Educatia altfel II (A different kind of education – second edition) continued the series of the activities initiatiated by the first edition of this project, completing the previous activities with a new series of relevant solutions for promoting the non formal education methods in the romanian educational system. The project was a fresh replay for the improvement of the achievement level of the interaction between non formal and formal education in the romanian educational system, bringing together more than 500 teachers and youth workers across all the country, and more than 800 students.
So, the mission of the project was to intensify the dialogue between formal and non formal education developing a partnership between NGOs and schools, through more than 200 activities held in 15 cities from Romania (open space activities, training courses, public debates, national seminary, etc.). All the activities were created to bring together teachers, students, volunteers, youth workers and youth policy makers, to prepare and develop a national strategy in non formal education field.
Educatia altfel II was founded by European Commision through Youth in Action Programme, Action 5.1 – Meetings of young people and those responsible for youth policy. The project started on august 2012 and finished in june 2013.

ACTING EUROPEAN is our second project, also founded by European Commision through Youth in Action Programme, Action 5.1 – Meetings of young people and those responsible for youth policy. The project started on may 2013 and will finish in march 2014.
The project aims to promote volunteering as a manifestation of active European citizenship and to develop a tool for supporting volunteering through the sustainable partnership of the NGOs from Bacau and Neamt counties.

TEDxBacau was a standard TEDx event organized by Active Development Association and Vasile Alecsandri University from Bacau on 8th of november 2013.

The project “Together for Gheraiesti Park “is an initiative of the young people belonging to the Active Development Association from Bacau. The project will take place in the city of Bacau during the period 17.02.2014 - 02.11.2014 and has the mission to promote biological and recreational potential of the Gheraiesti Park in the local community and to promote a healthy lifestyle among youth. The main themes of the activities are: environmental protection, education through sport and outdoor activities, European citizenship and volunteerism.

Through its activities the project aims to facilitate public debate on environmental issues at local level and to exploit the results through the involvement of stakeholders in identifying sustainable environmental measures for the management of Gheraiesti Park, the development of a tool to promote biological and recreational potential of the Gheraiesti Park, informing young people from the local community about the importance of biodiversity and recreational potential of the Gheraiesti Park, promoting ecological culture among young people in Bacau, diversification of outdoor activities for young people in Bacau and promoting a healthy lifestyle, the development of European consciousness among participants by involving them actively in all project activities and emphasizing the relations between youth and community and promoting volunteering and non-formal education in close connection with assuming the role of European citizens among young people of Bacau.

Other activities:
In the same time with the european projects, ADA is developing a coaching programme with our volunteers. So, all our activities or our projects are according with our volunteers needs. Every month we have a group coaching meeting with all the volunteers, and at every three months we do individual coaching meetings with the volunteers. In the same time, all the responsabilities according the projects, activities or internal work were shared between volunteers according with their learning objectives.
Everytime one of our volunteers are participating in any training course or project/activity, we facilitate the disemination process in our group, and that volunteer is shareing the informations to all the other volunteers.

In the last year we succeded to develop a big and efficient team, with very clear responsabilities, energic and full of initiative.

Even if ADA is only almost two years old, our team have a lor of competences (in our NGO we focus on the personal development of youth) from the projects we developed, from activities and training courses we participated, but most important from our previous experience.

Active Development Association is implementing activities according with our constitutive document, the statute and the Internal Rules Document.
