A.S.T.E.R.I. (Greece) -
A.S.T.E.R.I. is a Non Profit Non Governmental Organization that has been registered under the Greek Court Laws AM. 32873/2010 and is committed to aware, educate, research, promote, disseminate, publicize, and minimize problems regarding modern diseases youth is facing due to modern innovative techniques and devices such as mobile phones, internet games and communications , social media, bulimia, obesity, violence and bulling, etc.
Up till now ASTERI has been actively involved in Research - Surveys, Educating and Activities mostly on sports & games.
ASTERI was coordinating the project RED CARD on Violence, in Greece, for 2 years.
More than 14 Greek Athletes were involved and took part in lots of sport fun games.
Questinnaires regardin Violence were delivered to Soccer, Basket and Track & Field Academies.
Equal presence in the games was delivered vy mixed teams while the Pink soccer Action received a lot of credits.
In RED CARD project there were X-referess caled Red card Holders & Athletes & Parents assigned as Ambassadors.

Following the questionnaires and the evaluation ASTERI Organization tried to make a programm to deliver to schools and teams.

With the slogan “we CUT violence in Sports” in Arenas, Schools and playgrounds, started an innovative activity.

Volunteers together with Professionaled taking part on the ACTION. They Leaders of the Teams were receiving a small Haircut before the beginning of a game. This was an act of acepting to Stop Violence and keep it away from the games.
All players sign a Pledge with 10 Rules-Commands for not bringing Violence in the Game or against other players etc.
Then the fans have to sign the pledge as well. The Team that keeps their Promise receives a STAR (ASTERI) for their Offices.

Recently ASTERI introduced the Mini Second Chance Career Training Program and visits Teams and Clubs offering lessons to players where they get introduced in other professions close to sport activities for future interaction.
Since 2014 ASTERI is partner in SPIN European Project.

Also members of ASTERI are active in Jeans Re-Use. Young and older people, in order to support pure young children, they gather jeans in order to donate them. We clean and sterilize them and them we give them away to the representatives of special communities. The action called Share your Jeans and make a friend. Also, ASTERI cooperates with a National Org. SOTIRAS for kids with handicapped problems and its staff supports all type or actions involved from funny races to cultural and educational games.
