4H association of Jyväskylä region, Finland

Our 4H organisation in Jyväskylä region of 4H works with children and youngsters aged between 6-29 years. We offer hobbies such as clubs for 6-12 years. Clubs offer fun experiences and skills for children through games, playing, cooking, sports and other activities. Our Club leaders are youngsters who are trained by 4H.

We also support youngsters employment in different ways (co-operation with schools, offering summer jobs etc), encourage them to set up an own business, appreciate nature environment and learn to think and act ecologically.

The youth work of the Finnish 4H organisation is based on our values Head, Heart, Hands and Health. The core of 4H youth work is formed by educational thinking, the Three steps to employment model, and the Deeds near and far model.

The aim of 4H is to raise active, responsible and entrepreneurial young people. The method for achieving this is ’learning by doing’.
