205 FOS Impeesa are a scouting unit from Antwerp (Belgium), connected to FOS Open Scouting: the pluralist scouts & guides of Flanders. This means everyone is welcome regardless of skin colour, race or conviction. Our target group are boys and girls from five to seventeen years old who are divided into four age groups (branches): Castores or beavers (from 5 to 6 years old) Wontolla or cubs (from 7 to 9 years old), Ashanti or young scouts / young guides (from 10 to 12 years old) and Matabelen or scouts / guides (from 13 to 17 years old). These young people meet every Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm for activities centred on Scout techniques, creativity, environment, sports and games led by a skilled team of leaders (from at least 17 years old), always at the branch level. We place the emphasis on self-esteem, social skills, taking initiative and commitment in which friendship always takes a central place. Typical activities include camps, hikes, fun games, crafting, cooking, and learning to use a diverse set of techniques.
Objectives :
-to learn what scouting means in a different country
-to experience a different (scouting) culture in its several aspects
-to learn how to behave respectfully towards people from a different background
-to make friends from a different country
