Česká debatní společnost, z. s. / Czech Debate Society organizes educational, debate and other activities for children,youth and the general public.
Czech Debate Society facilitates activities with the goals of:
- facilitating proactive self-education in fields of development of key skills and capabilities,
- aiding personal development of children and youth, especially in moral, social and intellectual spheres,
- educating with the purpose of expanding the knowledge base of individuals and the society,
- development of social intelligence, tolerance and positive human relations,
- offering alternative options to common free time activities as means of fighting - socially pathogenic phenomena that affect children and youth,
- supporting the development of intercultural activities.
CDS manages to accomplish these objectives mostly by participating in contests in academical debating held at grammar schools and high schools and also by its own organization of such events, preparation of methodological materials and education in the arts of efficacious argumentation, cultivated expression, critical thinking and intellectual and moral development.
