The association for rural development LOCAL ACTION GROUP PRESPA Resen is a voluntary, non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan association, formed by free association.
The establishment of LAG PRESPA Resen enables the joint cooperation of the public, private and civil sectors, and through informing, educating, and activating the population, it will ensure the long-term development of the rural areas in the territory of the Municipality of Resen.
The LAG is organized and operates on the territory of the Municipality of Resen, which is located in the Pelagonian planning region.
GOALS AND TASKS
The main goal and task of LAG PRESPA Resen are to promote and contribute to sustainable rural development in the territory of the municipality of Resen, through initiatives, partnerships, and using the existing endogenous potential.
PRINCIPLES
LAG PRESPA Resen acts in accordance with the 7 principles of the EU LEADER approach: Local strategy for development based on a certain area, Local public-private partnership, Approach "from the bottom up", Integrated, and multi-sectoral approach, Innovations, Cooperation, and Networking.
Strategic goals and priorities of the LAG:
1. To increase employment in rural areas, encouraging entrepreneurship and self-employment.
-training for starting a business and using the available funds.
-promotion of young entrepreneurship, support of existing SMEs.
-events for networking and connecting with scientific and educational institutions.
-support SMEs in the research and development of new products and services.
-support for the introduction of higher standards in SMEs.
-improving the capacities of managers in SMEs.
Development of rural tourism
- reconstruction and equipping of tourist facilities.
-categorization of tourist catering facilities.
-mapping and marking of footpaths and installation of tourist signage.
- promotion of locations and development of attractions for active tourism.
- development of an integrated tourist offer.
- an innovative approach to promoting the region application.
2. Improving competitiveness in the agricultural-processing sector.
Modernization in production and processing.
- education on access to funds.
- education on the use of new technologies.
- visit renowned agricultural fairs.
- promotion of fruit growing and processing.
- association of farmers and their collective action.
Standardization of agricultural production.
- analysis of the potential for branding local products.
- support for branding and promotion of those products.
- setting up pilot fields for new products and varieties. - promotion and support of organic production.
- education of young farmers for the introduction of standards (GAP).
3. To protect the environment on the territory of the LAG Integrated waste management.
- actions for cleaning, fencing, and arrangement of wild landfills.
- procurement of equipment for collection, selection, and recycling of waste.
- education of the population on the use of organic waste.
- support for co-financing in composters.
- utilization of renewable energy sources and EE.
-promotion of EE in households and industrial facilities.
-support in co-financing in solar collectors in rural areas.
- education on growing and using plants for biomass production.
-protection of surface and underground waters.
- production of technical documentation for wastewater treatment.
-mapping of groundwater in the territory of the LAG.
-education of farmers for the implementation of agro-ecological measures for the protection of underground water.
-campaign for primary treatment of wastewater from industrial facilities.
4. To improve the quality of life in rural areas
Improvement of infrastructure.
- support for the preparation of technical documentation for road and communal infrastructure. - support for the preparation of urban plans.
- Introduction and improvement of social and health services.
- education on hygiene and preventive measures to protect against diseases.
- provision of basic medical services in rural areas.
- construction and reconstruction of a home for the elderly, kindergartens, and a youth center.
Protection and promotion of cultural and historical heritage.
- development of promotional materials and web information.
- reconstruction and restoration of cultural and historical buildings.
- organization of cultural events.
5. To strengthen LAG institutionally
Strengthening of the LAG.
- a creation of strategic documents and furnishing of the office.
- a creation of promotional materials and visual identity - logo - participation, and organization of promotional events.
Networking of the LAG.
- attracting new members.
- cooperation with other LAGs, associations, and institutions.
- membership in domestic and foreign organizations
Implementation of projects.
- a creation of annual plans for the implementation of the strategy.
- preparation of project applications.
- formation of a structure and professional service for the implementation of projects.
6. Youth
- Sustainable development of the Volunteer Center.
- Improving and strengthening the skills of the young.
- Support and encouragement of civic initiatives and campaigns.
- Support and promotion of urban culture.
- Promote and secure child protection policy and child rights.
- promote proper health care and well-being among young people through peer education and empower them in making responsible life decisions.
- to offer young people meaningful opportunities for participation at different levels of decision-making within the organization through its structure.
- to strengthen the knowledge base and competence for peer education and training of active members through its training program.
- to take part in Climate Action and Environmental conservation.
