Youth Worker Forum at the EYFT24

Training Course

24 February - 2 March 2024 | Pestalozzi Children's Foundation, Trogen, Switzerland

This TtT is focusing on empowering youth workers to advocate for the needs of young people. At the same time, the EuropeanYouthForumTrogen takes place, 10 high schools from Europe meet in the Children's Village to discuss the future of Europe together.

You should join us if you... 

  • work directly with young people and/or other youth workers and organizations 
  • want to expand your knowledge and experience in empowering youth and supporting active citizenship 
  • are interested in integrating social sustainability and democracy education into your repertoire 
  • want to explore the social spaces of young people. We visit youth centers and examine public space in the city of St. Gallen. 
  • want to be part of a dynamic European network of youth workers and active citizens. 
  • want to live and learn together with youth workers in a house for a week.

Training Details 

  • The training runs from Saturday to Saturday. 
  • Participate in a 1-hour online webinar before the training to "set the stage" and get to know the week's program. The webinars will take place on: January 15, 5 p.m. | January 23, 5 p.m. | January 31, 5 p.m.
  • English will be used as the main training language. 
  • ALL costs including accommodation, meals (upon arrival), learning materials, and training fees are covered by the organizers. 
  • Travel costs are reimbursed based on limited "need" and availability, with a guaranteed reimbursement of approximately CHF 350. 
  • There is no participation fee. 

What Can I Expect from the Training? 

  • 7 full days of practical, interactive training. 
  • Plenty of methods, tools, and activities that can be easily adapted and implemented at home! 
  • Self-directed learning, reflection, engagement, and discussion. 
  • Collaboration in youth centers. 
  • Exchange with the EuropeanYouthForumTrogen, which takes place in the children's village at the same time. www.eyft.eu 
  • At the end of the exchange, we record a radio program together in the radio studio. www.powerup.ch
  • Time in the unique Pestalozzi Children's Village to network with other youth workers and experts!

The application deadline is January 6, 2024. Please download the PDF to register via QR code on Microsoft Forms. Applications via e-mail will not be accepted.

Participation fee

No participation fees will be charged

Accommodation and food

Accommodation and meals are covered by the Pestalozzi Children's Foundation and the Swiss Agency for Exchange and Mobility, movetia

Travel reimbursement

A minimum of CHF 350 travel expenses will be reimbursed. A total budget is available for the travel expenses of all participants and can be divided among the participants according to actual needs. For this reason, the minimum possible amount is simply published here.
