The overall aim of the project is to equip youth workers with the needed tools, knowledge, information, competences and attitudes to counter hate speech and work with young people using non formal and human rights education

The project ‘’ Youth work countering hate speech’’ is a multinational training course aimed at educating youth workers and social activists on anti hate speech, media literacy and human rights education. The project will involve 30 youth workers coming from 10 countries-both EU members and partner countries from Caucasus-Bulgaria, UK, Latvia, Italy, Romania, Denmark, Greece, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijdan. We beleive  in the power of youth work to counter hate speech, discrimination, racism, nationalism and radicalization and with this project we aim to strengthen the skills, knowledge and competences of youth workers from the participating countries to combat hate speech and prevent radicalization of youth by human right education. The methodology that will be applied at this training course is based on non-formal education and human rights education approach. The overall aim of the project is to equip youth workers with the needed tools, knowledge, information, competences and attitudes to counter hate speech and work with young people using non formal and human rights education

The project objectives are:

- to encourage cooperation in the youth field and raise the capacity of the youth organizations from program and partner countries to do more initiatives and projects in the field of human rights and anti-hate

 -to encourage media literacy and knowledge among youth workers to combat cyberbullying

-to introduce the youth workers with the No hate speech Movement and its tools and resources- Bookmarks, Compass, WE can handbooks

-to promote social activism against hate speech on European level

 -reducing the risk of radicalization of young people by investing in training youth workers and increasing human rights initiatives

Costs

Participation fee

Contribution fee: 25 euro This way we will ensure the participants have a stake in the project: A modest contribution from participants to the overall costs of a project helps to create a sense of investment and ownership as well as participants tend to value what they receive more when they have contributed to it.Those costs will contribute to the implementation of the project activities and raising the quality of the logistical arrangements. 

Accommodation and food

Accomodation and food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the duration of the activities will be covered by the receiving organzation  Alternativi International.

All participants will be accomodated in hotel Casa Karina, located in Bansko Bulgaria at the follwoing address: Kralev dvor 5, 2770 Bansko, Bulgaria

Travel reimbursement

Travel costs limits in euro:  

-Bulgaria- 0 euro

-Latvia, Denmark,  Italy, Georgi, Armenia, Azerbaijan - 275 euro

-United Kindgom - -360 euro 

-Romania, Greece- 180 euro 

The planned travel reimbursement maximum limits are base on calculated distance of official registration address of the sending organziations from the partner countries to the project venue Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria based on the Erasmus + program distance calculator http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm

*please note that the distance is calculated one-way, but the reimbursement amounts are for return travel

*please note that if you are traveling from different city than the one of sending organziation the distance band might change and it will reflect on the reimbursement amount

Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
