Youth Work 5.0 - Empower Youth with Digital Tools

Training Course

15-20 April 2024 | St. Pölten, Austria

This training course aims to equip you with the right knowledge and skills to effectively integrate digital tools and AI into youth work while ensuring ethical and inclusive practices. Learn how digital tools can support you in all areas of youth work.

In today's dynamic digital landscape, young people often navigate effortlessly through various digital tools, creating a potential divide between them and youth workers who may find it challenging to keep up. This disconnect can hinder effective communication and collaboration, emphasizing the need for bridging this gap.

Join us in St. Pölten, Austria, from April 15th to 20th, 2024, to equip you with the right knowledge and skills to effectively integrate digital tools and AI while ensuring ethical and inclusive practices in youth work. You will learn how digital tools can help you in all the areas of youth work: project management, social media, direct activities with young people, website and poster design.

Objectives:

  • To learn about current digital tools and technology trends relevant to youth work.
  • To gain practical skills in incorporating Digital tools and AI into daily youth work.
  • To encourage critical thinking on the ethical considerations of AI and digital tool usage in youth work.

Methodology:
This is a four full-day Training (+ arrival and departure days). It is a learning-by-doing experience built on a simulation exercise combined with workshops, info sessions, and other engaging activities. Participants will actively engage in hands-on sessions while reflecting on the experience and taking valuable insights and ideas applicable to their daily work with young people.

You will have the chance to use some of these tools:
Actionbound, Canva, Padlet, Instagram, Kahoot, Google Workspace, Jackbox, Podio, Miro, TikTok, ChatGPT and other AI Tools.

Target group:
We are targeting people who work with young people and those in the management, leaders, and project coordinators. These could be youth workers, teachers, trainers, educators, managers, leaders, coaches, social workers, counselors, or community workers, the main criteria being that the participant is actively involved in youth work in an educational role or manage/coordinate the activities focusing on youth. Participants should be fluent in English and have some basic knowledge about technical tools.

Participants are expected to arrive on 15 April at 7 p.m. at the latest in order to be able to take part in the joint dinner.

This training course is a Training Practise Project (TPP) of trainers currently attending the Training of Trainers, edition 2023/24.
