YOUTH W.I.SE. is a training course that will take place in Barcelona from the 2nd to the 10th of April 2013.The main topics of the project are the youth unemployment and the social exclusion that this situation creates.
"Youth and Work with INCA and Southeast Europe" project is a training course that will take place in Llinars del Vallès (Barcelona) from the 2nd to the 10th of April 2013. 26 young people from Spain, Italy, Switzerland, UK, Macedonia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo will participate. The main topics of the project are the youth unemployment and the social exclusion that this situation creates. The training course sets as principal objectives to analyse the the situation that young people in Europe are facing at working level, to encourage their sense of initiative and to propose alternative solutions based on creativity. Planned activities include games and dynamics to strengthen the group; social theatre, clown and audiovisual workshops; simulations; activities based on working groups; and activities focused on the chance to follow-up this project. The working methods are based on social theatre, clown and audiovisual, and they will have a methodological approach based on Non-Formal Education.
Objectives of the training:
- To open a window to the artistic and cultural cooperation in youth field with Southeast Europe countries.
- To promote new partnerships for INCA international network.
- To explore the employment situation of young people in Southeast Europe countries and compare it to European countries, in order to highlight differences and similarities.
- To reflect on new artistic initiatives that can promote social inclusion of young people and fight against poverty and marginalization.
- To foster new international initiatives to promote youth employment in artistic and cultural field.
- To promote mutual understanding among young people coming from different EU countries and non-EU countries.
- To analyse the opportunities of EU enlargement towards the Southeast Europe countries.
Contents:
- Youth work, unemployment, lack of opportunities.
Unemployment as reason for less participation in the society.
- Creativity as a basis for intercultural work (art as a common language) and as answer to the lack of opportunities.
- Art as a tool for social transformation and social inclusion.
- Theatre and video as tools for youth work.
- Youth cooperation with Southeast Europe countries.
- EU enlargement and expectations towards a more just, more social and more focused on the younger generation European Union.
Working methods:
Theatre (social theatre, clown, street theatre, performative theatre, etc.) and audiovisual (pictures, videos, sounds, etc.).
Main program elements:
Team-building, simulations, theatre and video workshop, intercultural activities, reflection groups. Every day there will be a performative action in the street, designed and made by the participants, as an element of reflection on the issues discussed; every day a different action, in exploring the possibilities that art offer for actions that promote social inclusion and fighting poverty.
Selection criteria:
We'll select 18 participants from theatre field (performance theatre, street theatre, circus, clown, social theatre, etc.) and 8 from audiovisual sector, both with at least 1 year of experience (professional or semi-professional). For audiovisual participants: please, give us some information about your old productions, participation in audiovisual project's production, your own technical material (photo cameras, video cameras, laptops, softwares, cables, plugs, adapters, etc.).
Application contents will be the bases of the selection's procedure.
We are looking for open mind people, ready to work theatrically and physically, and ready to act in public using different theatrical and audiovisual techniques.

Costs
70% of the travel costs for selected participants are covered by the YiA Programme, and they will be reimbursed during the project. Participants should cover on their own the remaining 30% of travel cost.
Selected participants will have to pay a participation fee of 30 euro.
Costs for board, accommodation and training are fully covered by the organizers.
Visa costs are fully covered.
Participants are entitled to receive a Youthpass certificate from the organiser, for recognition of their competence development during the activity. Read more about Youthpass:
