Youth Project Management - a Tool for Social Integration

Training Course

31 May - 7 June 2008 | Minsk, Belarus

With this training we want to give an opportunities to NGO's from Europe and from the former Soviet republics to share their experiences and gain knowledge about youth project management.
The training contains 3 main objectives: First of all we would like to investigate how West-Europeans organise their voluntary work, and how do (for example) East-European foundations organise their's. We have a deeper look at the differences and similarities. What can the participants learn from an organisation from Estonia or Scotland? We will have a look at the positive sides of both of them. What is a good and interesting volunteer project? In what way are volunteers protected by law during their projects; does it even exist in Russia, and what about Sweden? The second part of the training is to give opportunities to the applicants to share their experiences, gain knowledge about youth project management. Together we will find tools that help the involvement of locals and regionals to develop themselves in organising Youth Exchanges and to make EVS to take part in the activity. The third part is to clarify the use of theatre as a tool for establishing social integration. The training will help the applicants and their organisations to improve their skills and to enhance their knowledge of the theme.

Organiser:

Richter (Youth NGO)

The Richter foundation is a non-profit organisation run by a team of professionals in the field of arts and cultural movement from the town of Den Helder (the Netherlands). The aim of Richter is to bring young people together and to make them aware of the many possibilities at national and international level.
Our foundation would like to improve international relations between youths and to let them explore and create an understanding of each other’s cultures. Yearly we organise around 15 cultural events throughout Europe. Some of them with financial support of the programme 'Youth in Action'. Our main aim to organise these events is to let young people get acquainted with peer groups from other countries in Europe. In our experience the best way to get to know each other and each other's culture is via workshops, such as theatre, drama, arts, and video. In the past 11 years we have build up experience with countries, such as Bulgaria, the Czech republic, Wales, Romania, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Moldova, Baltic States, Ukraine, and recently in the Caucacus region and Russia.
