Training Course

3-10 May 2024 | Saraiķi, Liepāja, Latvia

Goal of this training course is to help youth workers, researchers and policy makers to reflect how to do youth research. This activity will be linked with the Liepaja Cultural capital 2027 Youth program development.

The training course will bring 20 youth workers, youth mentors and volunteers for a 8-day training course to Latvia. The participants will come from Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Georgia, and Bulgaria.
Dates: 3rd of May (arrival day) - 10th of May (departure day), 2024.

Goal of this training course is to help youth workers, researchers and policy makers and volunteers reflect how use of evidence-based methods can support youth participation and other Erasmus+ priorities - digitalisation, sustainability and inclusion. this activity will be highly linked with the Liepaja Cultural capital 2027 Youth program development. You will have practical sessions in which you will help to develop this strategy.

At the same time this training course is a great opportunity to visit Liepāja - the warmest and most exotic city of Latvija. Training course will be hosted in a camping place 10km from the city and just few meters from the beach. During the training course we will visit the city of Liepāja, historical Russian war city Karosta and activities on the beach.

During this training you will have a chance to

  • learn about youth research, strengthen the links between research, practice, and decision-making;
  • familiarise participants with types of research, which could easily be applied in the daily youth work practice;
  • hare best practices of using research for youth policy development and youth work development.

Project is funded by the Erasmus + program.

Development platform YOU+ is the strongest and largest youth organisation in Southwestern part of Latvia that is working with a huge spectrum of young people - starting from active and talented young people to young people with fewer opportunities.
Since the establishment of the organisation it has been working on helping local youth to implement their ideas through the non-formal education and EU provided support.
Organisation has organised more than 200 local youth trainings, more than 30 local and international projects in the last 3 years and involved more than 1000 active members that are developing the future projects and local community.
Daily activities include supporting and mentoring youth in the form of local youth mentoring network , coordinating voluntary work in Liepāja, coordinating Eurodesk information network of the west region of Latvia and organising local activities and projects. Also, the organisation is developing Erasmus+ KA3 projects, Erasmus+ Youth work Accreditation, Solidarity projects in European solidarity corps and Voluntary work and Work projects in European solidarity corps.

During the project you will be provided with 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), also 2 coffee breaks a day, free of charge.

Travel reimbursement

Lithuania - 210 EUR/per person;

Poland - 210 EUR/ per person;

Georgia - 360 EUR/ per person.

Bulgaria - 275 EUR/ per person

Latvia - 0 EUR/ per person
