Conference – Symposium - Forum

13-18 September 2026 | Trencin, Slovak Republic

Are you ready to challenge hate speech and create positive change in your community? Join young activists, educators, and changemakers from across Europe and beyond for the international conference Changing Narratives: Youth in Action

This conference is supported by the Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation. The conference is co-funded through Erasmus + Accreditation.

A participant should:

  • Be of age 18 - 30 years old, with some exceptions for applicants with highly relevant experiences and expertise
  • Be resident in one of the European Cultural Convention signatory countries (we also welcome the participants from the following countries not signatory to the European cultural convention but who had an active NHSM campaign, namely: Kosovo, Tunisia, Morocco, Mexico, Egypt and Canada)

(75% of participants have to be under the age of 30 due to funding requirements)

During the conference, you will:

  • Explore innovative approaches to countering hate speech
  • Connect with inspiring young people from different countries and backgrounds
  • Build international partnerships and strengthen your network
  • Develop pilot projects to create impact in your local, regional, or national context
  • Become part of a growing movement committed to human rights, inclusion, and democratic participation

Participation fee

30 EUR participation fee (participation fee is waived for members of the No Hate Speech Network)

Accommodation and food

food and accommodation are covered by the organisers.

Travel reimbursement

Travel (based on the Erasmus+ and EYF regulations)
