Youth for Arab Baltic Cooperation

19-25 November 2012 | Vilnius, Lithuania

By organizing this seminar we seek to open new opportunities for youth or youth coordinators from Arab and Baltic Sea regions to build new ways for equal cooperation, share our best practices and ensure development of common activities.
Looking for participants only from Sweden, Denmark and Finland. This November Kultūros centras “In Actio”, together with other members of Lithuanian ALF network is organizing event - Arab Culture Days. One of the main parts of this project will be international seminar “Youth for Arab Baltic Cooperation”. By organizing this seminar we seek to open new opportunities for youth or youth coordinators from both regions to build new ways for equal cooperation, share our best practices and ensure development of common activities. During the seminar participants will have opportunity to share their experience and knowledge on non-formal education, develop new skills for involving media and local society. Aim of this project is to strength cooperation between Arab An Baltic sea Regions by: • Giving a space for NGO’s to meet in order to start and/ or strengthen cooperation • Preparing future cooperation activities /projects between regions • Stimulating mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue between regions • Providing with tools /methods and programs (Youth in Action, Euromed, ALF) for future cooperation

Kulturos centras "In Actio" (Youth NGO)

Kultūros centras IN ACTIO was founded in 2006 and is a non-governmental organisation based in Lithuania.
Our main objectives are to
• Develop a sense of responsibility, initiative and motivation for active participation as European and global citizens in young people
• To promote Human Rights education in NGOs as well as through social and cultural projects for society in general
• Stimulate transnational cooperation in order to strengthen mutual understanding of an open and tolerant society.
In order to reach our objectives we:
• Organise and partner in international meetings, exchanges, seminars and provide volunteering placements for young people
• Organise international and national training courses, seminars, conferences and partnership building activities for the staff of NGOs
• Organise European Voluntary Service projects in Europe and world wide.
Since 2009 Culture center “In Actio” joined Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures national network and in 2012 was elected as Head of Lithuanian Network. It is an organisation shared and resourced by over forty Euro-Mediterranean countries, to bring people together as a way to promote dialogue between cultures and respect for diversity.

Costs

Accommodation and lodging will be covered by organizers. Travel expenses will be covered 70%.
