You go Youth Goals! ONLINE TRAINING

Training Course

9-12 June 2020 | Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg

Due to the safety measures imposed by the Luxembourgish Government banning meetings until July 31th, the initially planned physical meeting in June has been cancelled and converted to an online training (a physical meeting might follow later this year)

Online and offline training

The youth goals were defined by young people and policy makers during the last cycle of the Structured Dialogue (now known as the Youth Dialogue). The Youth Goals should now be put into concrete action at the local level. The training event You go Youth Goals aims to promote the goals and help youth workers to better understand what they are and how they can be used to motivate young people to get active. It is also a great opportunity to use the European Solidarity Corps to get young people to become more active and work towards these goals. Therefore, this training will also focus on the exchange of good practices and learn how to best use the Solidarity Corps to do so.

The training will mainly be focused on understanding what the Youth Goals are and how to use them to inspire projects and motivate young people to get active. For this we will be alternating between knowledge building and knowledge sharing modules, as well as practical exercises that aim on better understanding how to develop projects around this topic.

In order to assure the quality of the training event, we intend on collaborating with youth researchers from the University of Luxembourg, as well as the Luxembourgish Youth Delegates for the Youth Dialogue (formerly known as the Structured Dialogue).

  • The first part of the training event would be held online from the 9-12 June 2020 (exact timetable will be communicated later) .

The participants will complete several 60-90 minute modules on the Youth Goals, the European Solidarity Corps program, project design, quality assurance for youth projects and on coaching basics. At the end of the online event, participants will be tasked with designing and planning a project centered around the Youth Goals for autumn 2020.

  • The second part of the training are Peer-to-peer activities (online)

Participants will be allocated into smaller buddy-groups, that will allow peer-to-peer work in the months between the online module and the physical training.
Participants will be able to exchange and review each other’s progress in this peer
groups.

  • The thirds part is the network meeting in autumn 2020 (date to be defined)

Subject to the government measures a 2-day physical meeting will take place in autumn 2020. The participation is reserved to participants having completed the two first parts of the training and is subject to a new (fast track) application. If the authorities do not allow gatherings the possibilities of a postponement or a final online training will be discussed. During this event, participants will have the opportunity to network as well as present and get feedback on their projects. This training event will be mostly focused around the exchange and knowledge sharing between participants. We will also hold a final wrap-up and evaluation of the entire training programme.
