WWF-led Educator Training "Getting Active for Nature"

Training Course

1 November 2026 - 1 February 2027 | Kick-off Training: St. Gilgen, 13-15 Nov, Austria

Be part of a hands-on (offline/online) training course for educators, that will cover topics such as biodiversity and nature connection, global to local problem solving, facilitating action-centered learning and supporting youth-led action projects.

Young people are experiencing unprecedented levels of eco-anxiety as they observe the impacts of climate change on the world around them. They may feel powerless and are looking for ways to get active. At the same time, the education system is recognizing the importance of hands-on learning that drives up 21st century skills such as problem solving, project management and teamwork.

This training aims to address these topics and more: Supporting both formal and nonformal educators learn how to support “Action-centered learning” and providing agency to young people to get active for the planet.

Be part of a new innovative, hands-on training course for educators that will cover a range of topics such as biodiversity and nature connection and -understanding, global to local problem solving, facilitating action-centered learning and supporting youth-led action projects.

✓Target group of the training:
Educators (formal-non-formal), who work with youth (13-18) The pilot has a regional focus and is primarily for trainers from Austria and surrounding countries (Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland).

✓Training Details (hybrid course, in English)
Part 1: Online, live Prep-Call + Block 1 testing the online platform (Nov 2026)

Part 2: Offline Kick-off Training in St. Gilgen, Austria on action-centered learning and nature connection (Nov 13-15)

Part 3: Online E-Course with facilitated Group Sessions Blocks 2-4 (Nov-Jan 2027)

Part 4: Developing and Implementing Action Projects with your learners! 

Part 5: Online live session Feedback and Evaluation (February 2027)

Certificate of Participation: To receive a certificate from WWF, you will need to actively participate and complete all aspects of the course. As this is a pilot, we also request feedback on the course.
